He was our kids pediatrician for several years. It was such a shock to hear this news and my sympathies to the family. He was such a great doctor. I remember one Halloween when he dressed up as Beetlejuice. We got such a kick out of that.

Dr. K was my pediatrician when I was a kid, and we had the pleasure of having him as my daughter’s too when she was born. We just absolutely loved him, and can’t believe he is gone. We had to switch doctors due to insurance and are saddened about his passing. We hope his family is coping well and wish them the best in the grieving process. He was just awesome. So sorry for the loss of Dr. K.

I had the pleasure to work for, and with Dr. Kaltenbach for 7+ years. I got to know him and his family and I am grateful for that time spent at his practice. Watching the kids come-in excited to see Dr. K or Dr.Cottenball, (smiling) or a number of other pronunciations children would come up with, since pronouncing his name was a bit challenging for the young-ones. Getting to hear stories from the families that once saw him themselves, as children and now bringing their own children to see Dr. K, was heart-warming. He was an avid OU fan, loved to play golf and have a good time. He will truly be missed.
R.I.P. Dr. K.

I was so terribly sad to hear about such a tragic loss. He has taken care of my two kids since they were babies, he actually just saw my daughter right before this happened and I'm so thankful that the kids got to see him that one last time. He was such a sweet man and obviously had such a huge heart. He will be extremely missed...to his family, you are in our thoughts and prayers and we send our condolences! He gave and meant so much to so many families. Such a blessing. I pray God gets you through this incredibly tough time..but how proud you must be to have had him in your lives....The Clark family

Our sons saw Dr. Kaltenbach 30 years ago when he started his practice with Dr. Linda Murphy. Their office was located in the Utica area at the time. He and Linda made a great team as both are outstanding people and pediatricians. They understood kids and how to not only treat them medically but also how to interact and communicate with them. Now, or sons are 30 but they still remember the Dr. Kaltenbach/Murphy years-- as it seems that they were in there quite often for one thing or another:)
Our family sends heartfelt prayers and condolences to Dr. Kaltenbach's family.

This makes me so sad. We were so lucky to have Dr. Kaltenbach as the girls pediatrician for the past 16 years. He was so kind and caring and always enjoyed teasing the girls about having boyfriends. He had an infectious laugh, always had a smile on his face, and we never left his office without a big hug. He was so much more than just a doctor to our family. We are so sorry for your loss. You teased me as a child every time I came to visit, you tried to sneak candy away from me while I was in the hospital knowing how mad I would get lol but most importantly you loved all your patients and making them laugh was something you always did. I remember bringing my own children to see you after not seeing you since I was a child and you recognized me immediately greated me with the best hug and asked how my mom was doing addressing her by her name I knew I had the best doctor as a child and was so happy to have you take care of my babies. I am absolutely heartbroken to hear of Dr. Kaltenbach’s passing.
If you knew me growing up, you would know that I was always sick with something. And in those times I was able to fall in love with the medical field and truly find my passion because of this great pediatrician. As a senior in high school I took a big step towards my goal. I decided to become a certified medical assistant. To complete the course I needed to log 60 hours of clinical training. I knew exactly where I wanted to work at and Dr. K didn’t hesitate to hire me. I got to witness his passion and love for medicine. He truly inspired me. Without him I don’t think I would be two semesters away from a bachelor’s in biology or be close to applying to physician assistant school.
He will always have a special place in my heart. Rest in peace Dr. K.

I met Ted when he was finishing his residency and joined the clinic where I worked - Cherry Street Children's Clinic - along with Dr. Linda Murphy. I was the office manager for the clinic when he came. He was a good pediatrician - loved charming the new mommas and especially loved on the babies and children in the practice. He was one of the few physicians I would trust my children's lives to. Things I will remember about him: his laugh, his smile, his tan, his perfectly coiffed hair. He was my son, Kyle's, pediatrician through his early years, and I still giggle when I remember how Kyle used to call him Dr. Cottonballs. We lost touch as my children grew, and when he and Dr. Linda separated their practices, but I will always remember him fondly. My most sincere condolences and sympathy to his family and friends.

Kaltenbach and Moody Families,
I am so sorry to hear of Ted's untimely passing. My remembrances of Ted was when his children attended Union schools and I was fortunate to have them in my school as I was their principal. What a pleasure to know and love this family! Each child was so very different yet so thoughtful, bright, creative, and loving. Ted was always present at their events and performances. He was very supportive of educators and always stated his support. After the children moved on out of elementary school, I would hear from parents whose children were his patients how wonderful he was. He developed many lifelong relationships with the children he served and I often would recommend his services to new parents in the area that needed a pediatrician.
We know where Ted is, we know he has been joined by family members who went before him, and we know that Andy probably met him at the gates of Heaven, singing and dancing and telling a few one liners himself. The hurt in the hearts of his children will take much time to heal, but the memories will remain fresh and called upon often during this period of grief.
I wish Pat, Alyson, Kyle, and Adam my very best in the coming months. And may Ted's other family members know how much Ted's life meant to others and that prayers for peace will continue to be said on your behalf. Hugs to all.
RIP Ted Kaltenbach.

Dr. Kaltenbach... was the sweetest man and the best Doctor to anyone that knew him. He has been my siblings and I's doctor for over 18 years and was currently my daughters. He helped me through so much as a child and was the most understanding and helpful man. Even cried with me when I found out I was pregnant at 16 in his office. This breaks my heart to hear him gone so soon. I can still hear his famous "knock knock" walking to our room and the smell of his also famous cologne.. RIP DR. K. You were truly amazing.

Dr. Kaltenbach was my pediatrician all my youth. He definitely made going to the Dr. fun and not terrifying for a child. I'm now 35, I remember going into his office once just before I turned 20 and he was laughing after he had seen and treated me that as much as he would love to continue treating me, I really would have to find a primary care doctor. I simply didn't want to, haha. A great, caring and kind hearted man with such a fun spirt! You will be missed and never forgotten, sir.
