I was in first grade at Holmes elementary when I met Mr Cannavan. He always said hi to me. Through the six years I was there. We became good friends. One of those years I asked him what heated the school. Crazy question, I know. But I was curious about what made things work. He took me down to the boiler room and showed me. Wow what a huge room. I was hooked. And he explained the working of it. I went down there several times. Learned a lot. Then when I went on to Wright jr. high after Holmes. There he was working there. Well I got to see the new boiler room there. After 9th grade I went to Edison. Nuts. He wasn’t there. Fast forward now. It was because of his showing me the boiler rooms that I became a heating/air contractor. I have found memories of him. Now I’m retired. And because of him, and the boiler rooms. I made a good living. Thanks Phil.
