Phillip Sheridan Cannavan, Jr. was born to his parents Phillip Sheridan & Willie Mae (Harrison) Cannavan on January 12, 1924 in Ada, OK and passed from this life on December 26, 2021 at the age of 97.
Phillip was baptized in Fittstown, OK. He was a lifetime member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He retired from Tulsa Public Schools and worked several other jobs in his younger days (including a move to CA). He dedicated over 40 years of volunteer service at Hillcrest Medical Center taking patients to chapel. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was such a kind, genuine person, and he always looked for the good in others. He was loved by many and will be missed.
Phillip is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean (Davidson) Cannavan; his sisters, infant girl and Rachel Yancy; and grandson, Phillip Moore. He is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Turner; his granddaughter and her spouse, Elizabeth & Monte Sparks; his great grandchildren, Christian (Moore) & his spouse Kimberly Woods, Heather Sparks and Tyler Sparks; and his great, great granddaughter, Madison Woods; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Phillip will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5 and his funeral will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6 both at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and Chapel. He will be laid to rest at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, OK.
