Obituary of Betty Grigg

Old Hwy 66 in Catoosa, OK Molly's Landing is a "TOC Lodge kind of place" and seems to be a perfect venue to memorialize Betty Grigg. Molly's is about 15 minutes from downtown Tulsa. We've looked at weather forecasts several times these past few days and believe that day will be a "bright spot" just like our mom was for those who knew her. Hope to see you there. Betty Grigg, 95, left us Monday morning, January 27, 2014. These past several weeks she had been courageously fighting heart issues and the effects of a severe fall on New Year's Day. She passed away peacefully while under hospice care at Oklahoma Methodist Manor, who's staff and personnel treated her with much love and respect. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 3, 1918. Her youth was spent traveling on many trips to Scotland, Miami, FL and back to Pittsburgh. She settled in Miami and worked for Pan Am. There she met, and after WWII, married E. Lee Grigg. They moved to Tulsa in the late 40's. Betty was a beautiful lady in every sense of the word. After raising her family she devoted her life to helping others. She was at the side of many friends who were sick and dying. She volunteered for services like Meals on Wheels, Red Glove Review and spent at least one day a week helping in many ways at The Center for the Physically Limited. Her presence was always welcomed by staff and the beneficiaries of those services. She was a long time member of the Tulsa Ozark Club, and spent most weekends enjoying fishing, bird watching, hiking and just being a part of nature with her many friends. As was her desire, funeral services are to be a very private family affair. There will be a memorial ceremony for friends and neighbors and family to honor her life and its tremendous impact on each of us.
